RDPE Grants For Businesses
Rural Economy Grant (REG)
The national Rural Economy Grant (REG) is now closed for applications. New grants in Devon, Somerset and Cornwall have now opened. Small rural businesses in Devon and Somerset can apply for a minimum of £10,000 in capital grant funding under a REG scheme being delivered locally. Small rural and agri-food businesses in Cornwall can also now access a new grant funding scheme called the Rural Business Investment Scheme (RBIS). For more information visit our '

Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme (FFIS)
Round 2 is now closed
The Dairy Fund
The Dairy Fund is now open for applications from eligible projects that will deliver transformational change to multiple English dairy farm businesses.
The grant fund is now open for outline applications; please note that the deadline for submission of completed electronic and signed hardcopy outline applications is
17:00 on the 28th February 2013.
Grants are available from £25,000 to circa £1 million.
Livestock Sector Support
Southwest Healthy Livestock Initiative (SWHLI)
The Southwest Healthy Livestock Initiative is an RDPE funded programme with the aim of achieveing an uplift in the profitability of the livestock industry by improving health and welfare among farmed animals by investment.
TB Advisory Service
Offers a free and independent advisory service, helping farmers in the South West deal with the practical everyday problems which bTB brings.
Uplands Livestock Sector Support
Addresses the particular productivity issues faced by livestock producers farming in the upland areas of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moor by supporting them through collaborative activities, facilitation in developing ideas, provision of advice, guidance on training opportunities,and identifying sources of funding.

Skills and Training
The Skills Programme (South West)
The Skills Programme offers 50% funding support for training to develop and enhance skills and knowledge in the agricultural and forestry sectors with the overall aim to increase productivity and profitability. The programme is funded by the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and delivered by Duchy College Rural Business School working with the Royal Agricultural College and Lantra
Agricultural Resource Management
The RURAL FOCUS R4F project is a part of this scheme and dedicated information on this project can be found
here. In addition to R4F the South Wests Agricultural Resource Management Project also includes:
Soils for Profit (S4P) which provides fully funded expert advice, workshops, feasibility studies, demonstrations and training on soils, manures and nutrients. New to project customers can currently receive free analysis of 5 soil samples per farm.
The SWARM Hub which provides farmers and growers with practical, up to date and unbiased information to help manage natural resources efficiently and make the right business decisions.
